After downloading the UMT distribution, which is just compressed file on zip-format, you need to do the following:

  • Unzip the UMT zip file to a directory of your choice, e.g. c:\. This will create a subdirectory umt, where the UMT application is placed.
  • Make sure that Java is installed, JSDK 1.4 or newer. Also make sure that the java runtime is in your execution path.
  • Locate the file run.bat in the install directory of UMT, which was the directory you chose (e.g. c:\umt
  • Execute the batch file run.bat. You have now started UMT.
  • Executing the file runfam.bat to activate the product line module instead..
